We sometimes visit cafés with friends, and in September, finally paid a visit to Henry Congressional (easier now, since everyone else is at Chye Seng Huat Hardware Coffee Bar).
Other than the company, we also really liked the following:
- pandan chiffon cake (top!);
- the tenderest chicken in the rosemary chicken & watercress sandwich;
- the cashew butter (unfortunately appearing as CB on the menu); and
The coffee is very good. (Siew doesn’t drink coffee, but based on Sarah’s non-expert review, it is on par with The Plain’s and Maison Ikkoku’s iterations). They also are good tea people, and iced tea on a hot day should be good for most people.
More information: Free parking in the Henry Park estate. The estate is subject to an en-bloc sale, and will be gone before long. The café is open from June 2012 to January 2013.
PS. We also took the chance to walk around the estate. We like old places, so there will be photos coming in another post!
