We were at a freelancer friend’s workplace and saw the Cant desk. It looked perfect for putting some plants on top, and hiding your boyfriend’s photo in the shadows of the desk. Our friend found out for us that the table was made by Bludot.
After some googling, we found that a shop called Pomelo carried Bludot furniture. One sunny day, we headed down to Pomelo, somewhere in Chinatown. That was the first time we went, and we eyed the pieces we wanted, and asked about prices. But there was no doubt that we wanted quite a number of things. Raymond was very nice.
The next time we went, it was to place our orders, and happily, we managed to get a parking lot right outside the shop. [We are very unlucky at getting parking lots, and I was, then, still somewhat frightened of parallel parking.] It was very hard to resist buying more. We told ourselves we would not spend all our money on furniture-that-is-not-IKEA. We told ourselves we need to budget because who spends so much money on furniture. We told ourselves we can buy nicer things when we grow up. Since we are mostly people of restraint, we only ordered the Strut desk in Ivory (which has been the main feature of our study), and the Real Good Chair in Aqua. We paid and ran out.
More words about Pomelo! Their delivery charges are reasonable, and the chaps are nice. If you are looking for them, do note that they are in the process of moving and should be in their new space at Tan Boon Liat Building soon.
