A newcomer on the scene, Symmetry is the kind of place you visit and immediately want to tell your friends about. Well, at least that’s what we are doing.
The place is impeccably turned out, in that it has the right kind of furniture, fittings and décor. It has an artfully sanded down brick wall, and long windows letting in so much light. The design and styling, especially of the menus, ooze a well-thought out sort of confidence. Symmetry has the kind of beautiful interior that makes you hope that the food matches up.
And it does. The only annoyance was that they had wooden blocks serving as plates for eggs that were so lusciously runny. I tried to order the pork cheeks but they were out, so we had a eggs florentine and the croissant (with Norwegian smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, and the loveliest crispiest hashbrown). We have a bit of a fatigue when it comes to egg breakfasts, but Symmetry did not disappoint. Everything on the plate was well-made and fresh. Their staff are friendly, and what can go wrong with a place that plays the Beatles?
We had a good time there, and I ordered a second coffee (I love the small glasses). We had a look at the dinner menu, and I must say, we found it very enticing! We are not sure if the menu changes regularly but we spotted beef cheeks, oysters, scallops, and peanut butter jelly.
PS. We thought the place was undeservedly quiet for Saturday lunchtime, and hope that if you’re in the area and want to try something out, to go over to Symmetry.
PPS. We do not know the people behind Symmetry, but like the place very much.
