One hot Sunday, we were slaving away on our products and blog, and morning somehow segued into afternoon without us feeling hungry. Then, as proof of where our priorities lay, we decided we wanted to go to Artistry to try their coffee, and built other possible plans into it.
So we went for lunch at Fika and had a walk along Haji Lane. Although we were both suitably full, a charming and effortless attempt to make us spend more resulted in a tiramisu appearing on our table. So we had lattes and a tiramisu. Yes, Siew now drinks coffee too!
A space for art (special mention to the giant robot outside and the crazy dog overlooking the stage), and music, with a vibe that is just right for conversations. The long table is made from salvaged wood, and who can resist those retro aluminium chairs?
The afternoon we were there, Blue Monks were playing and it felt so perfect for a wet day. We spent our time on the long table, plotting world domination, and urm, doodling.
Slowly but surely, the rash of cafes and restaurants that are going back to Kampong Glam is making the area somewhere we might go over to more often. If you happen to be there, we recommend Symmetry and Artistry. (KIV: Arbite’s branch at Aliwal. We will see how that goes.)
