#reclaimingsg is our series about all things related to our memories of and how we feel about Singapore. We are not so ready to “archive” yet, hence the word “reclaim”.
We haven’t had a post in this series for some time, but we had a good experience at a coffee shop in Cassia Crescent, and I suddenly remembered the last time we had such a good time. It was in March, at a coffee shop in Whampoa Drive. Back then, we had pottery classes, and we spent a few lunches at this kopitiam, eating almost the same things each time. To us, it is a wonder that each dish we ordered was good. Sadly, in our mind, that is not a given! We know that Whampoa Drive market receives more traffic, but this kopitiam tucked under a block right opposite the Whampoa Community Centre has our heart so.
Location: Block 74, Whampoa Drive, Singapore 320074
The nearest parking is at the surface lots in between blocks 74 and 75.
Pictured: wanton mee, tau sar pau, fried mee with otah and Taiwanese sausage, and chee cheong fun. All these, for less than S$10.
Go out there and eat a good Hokkien mee now.
