Update! The Birdy Girls Brooches are now available on the Small And Able online shop!
In September, while planning for our Taipei trip, we decided that we would be super productive during the trip and try to get some things done for HEY KUMO and the shop. We had been looking for the longest time to get things laser cut (sigh, it’s hard to find people locally. When you do, they have high minimums or they blow you off for your low quantity. Same difference). So, we geared up, finished off some illustrations and sent them off to the fine people at FabCafe Taipei.
The “Fab” in FabCafe stands for “fabrication”. The place is one part makerspace and you can purchase tickets to use the in-house laser-cutting machine and the 3D printer. You can enjoy a cuppa in the “café” half of the space. They currently have locations in Tokyo, Barcelona and Taipei. To learn more about FabCafe, please see here.
That is our stuff getting some laser cutting love. I quite like the smell of burning wood. Truthfully though, after ten minutes of hawking around the machine, the crepes we ordered arrived and we decided to leave the supervision to the lovely staff. The crepes were delicious!
And now after two months of returning to Singapore, we finally got our asses down to finishing these in time for our market last weekend at Public Garden! Deadlines work wonders.
Sorry, we’ve been so slack on posts lately. It’s hard to imagine that we used to have scheduled posts! Now we just have scheduled ideas. And we aren’t even on track for those.
