Now, everybody has his own ideas about how things should be placed. And in hotels, the lack of space sometimes makes this even more of an issue for us.
We grumbled that many places (hotels, public toilets, restaurants) have a UX problem. Which is that no one thought about how the user will be approaching the tap/ door or how the user will be walking around the space.
So when we walked into our not-so-large king room at this DoubleTree offering, we quietly appreciated the space. And then said out loud, “This is very nice!”
We loved our room at DoubleTree by Hilton, Tower of London.
Well, we went around opening drawers, pulling curtains, peeping behind doors… and found nothing that irked us. Hehe. While reviews commonly marvel at the presence of an iMac in the room, which comes with a remote, keyboard and mouse, we thought it was an okay feature because we did not need a computer on holiday.
It was a very fine room.
The bedding was good and there are complimentary (small) bottles of water. Also, we love mixed water taps. (Well we realized on this trip that mixed taps are so taken for granted.)
This hotel is very near to the Tower Hill tube station. The restaurant downstairs (Natural Kitchen) serves a good breakfast and the hotel lounge has a takeaway counter (for sandwiches, snacks and drinks).
The downside is that it is in the business district and there aren’t many cafes/ restaurants around and the convenience stores close early. Also, the air system in the room is a tad loud, though it didn’t hamper our ability to fall asleep. Finally, the WiFi was not consistently available.
